Project History

Current – Senior Instructor for Adults with a Disability

This role predominantly consists of facilitating Sensory and Community Arts based programs at a Day Service for adults with a disability.

(Refer to my updates page for further information).

2015 – Guest Artist, National Wool Museum

Travelling to various locations across regional Victoria,this role was held in conjunction with the Project Coordinator position below.

2015 – Artist in Residence, Box Hill Community Arts Centre

This opportunity was funded by the City of Whitehorse Council, where I was working in ‘The Loft’ studio at Box Hill Community Arts Centre for the year.

The work created during the residency was a response to the centres surrounds. It’s gardens, architecture and active creative community.

2013-2015 – Project Coordinator, Shaun the Sheep Pompom Parade in the Pyrenees.

A Community arts project that travelled throughout regional Victoria, where free workshops were held to contribute to breaking the world record of the

‘The largest display of handmade sheep.’

A voluntary role for a not-for-profit organisation that promotes and contributes to the Arts in the Pyrenees region of Victoria.

 2009-2012   Upward Mobility Project, Edinburgh, UK

Community Arts Worker/Workshop Facilitator

Upward Mobility runs Community Arts and Healthy Living Projects for vulnerable youth and adults at an Arts Complex in Edinburgh.

I facilitated Art & Design workshops and curated exhibitions for the students and coordinated events for World Community Arts Day, a mural by the students for a local fire station, and an Art Auction for the charity.

2007-2009 Tiphereth. Coordinator of Art & Craft Studio. Edinburgh, UK

Leading a team of 3 Co-workers, 5 volunteers and 16 Service Users for an Art and Craft studio for adults with a disability.  Also facilitating workshops within the studio, and  coordinating two arts and crafts fairs each year.

 2003-2006 Senior Instructor for adults with a disability. Melbourne

Running classes for participants at a day service for adults with a disability in the Arts and community access.

From 2003-2006 I also organised numerous projects such as International Day of People with a Disability, myriad social events, and Arts exhibitions for all participants.

In March 2006, I was the first recipient of the Villa Maria Travelling Scholarship where I spent 6 weeks in the UK exploring Community Arts and Arts in the Disability field

Tutoring Art to adults with a disability at an adult education centre

Setting long term art projects for each individual as well as developing art portfolios for potential further education

 2000-2001 University of Ballarat School of Visual Arts. Tutor 2nd Year Painting and Drawing.

Tutoring Visual Art students in a studio setting; teaching a variety of techniques and approaches within set projects in the fields of drawing and painting.

 For the past 20 years, I have been running Arts programs and workshops within community and educational settings.

These workshops have varied in concept and age group – running workshops for all ages and abilities where programs have been run for art as therapy, to connect with local communities or for those who wish to develop and/or explore their skills and creativity within the Arts.
