When we see patterns, our brains are finding relationships which give those patterns meaning.
My work explores and responds to the relationships I have observed within and around rural and urban landscapes that I have shared with it’s habitats; it’s occupiers.
The works visually translate what I am ‘seeing’ with weather patterns and the marks that have been made via tracks and organic lines.
The lines merge with the layered patterns that lead the eye to wander around the work.
The works often follow a cyclical timeline, hinting at times of the day and year through colour, tone and texture.
